Anastacia Tohill | Animator and Illustrator
present position from July 2008 – 2009
I graduated in July 2008 with a first class honours degree in Graphic Design, specialising in Animation from Norwich University College of the Arts. My animation film ‘Undine’ has been screened at three festivals – Exposures Student Festival in Manchester, the China International Student Animation Festival in Beijing and the Brazillian Animarte´s Festival 2008. I have a part-time job at Lowestoft College as a sessional software lecturer. I also do some freelance/self employed work. I have gained valuable animation work experience working on a project with NUCA, Film and Digital Media Exchange (FDMX) and Eye Film and Television. This was partly funded by Screen East. This involved research and development work and enabled me to be involved in a wide range of animation disciplines. This included painting, stop motion with a digital still camera, puppet making, puppeteering, video work, blue screen editing, and cut out style animation using After Effects and helping to produce a storyboard. I recently created and animated a puppet, animated a character using magnets and learnt how to use professional stop motion software Dragon. I also gained valuable experience working as an Art Assistant on the live action shoots. This was for a pilot children’s television series.
I have recently completed a part-time PTLLS City and Guilds Teaching course at Lowestoft College, level 4. I specialise mainly in mixed media animation styles including stop motion and cut-out style techniques. I am interested in pursuing a career and gaining experience in Teaching, Animation, Illustration, TV and Film.
